Howdy Rebecca;
The Coffelt KIA Database (CKD) says that your cousin's, PFC Dale Edward Greenwood's, unit was Hotel Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. However, there is something strange going on here because the entry for PFC Greenwood wasn't made until Feb., 2003. Although his MOS was 0331 (Machine Gunner, Light) which would make sense with an infantry outfit, his sister (in a tribute to him posted on the Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Wall) says that he was a helicopter door gunner and helicopters are not assigned nor attached to infantry units so I'm not sure if the unit is correct.
Your best chance to get in touch with someone who knew PFC Greenwood in Vietnam would be to leave a message in the guestbook of the 2-3-3 Marines (Vietnam-Era) Association website at http://www.homestead.com/233vietnameraassociation/index.html or send an e-mail to the point-of-contact for H/2nd/3rd Marines whose name is Ron Poness and whose e-mail address is available from the above website. The 2-3-3 Marines Association does not list your cousin as one of their KIAs for Hotel Co., but there's a zillion possible reasons for this. I'll try to find out. It could just be an oversight or PFC Greenwood could have transferred or been reassigned to a Marine Corps aviation outfit just prior to his death.
