Howdy Anonymous;

I assume that you are referring to CPL Robert Joseph Brown, Jr. His Army Serial Number is RA 078426507 (which means that he enlisted and the numerical portion is probably his Social Security Number since it has 9 digits instead of 8). His MOS was 11C10 (Indirect Fire Infantryman = Mortarman). He was born on 8/29/48 and his hometown of record is given as Buffalo, NY. His tour of duty in Vietnam commenced on 4/15/70 and he was assigned to A Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Airmobile). He was KIA on 7/22/70 in Thua Thien Province due to "Hostile, Ground Casualty, Artillery, Rocket, or Mortar". CPL Brown's religious preference was Roman Catholic, he was single, and his body was recovered.

The Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Wall at http://thewall-usa.com/ has a photograph of CPL Brown and the following tribute to him from a buddy:

"Tommy Webster

Lumber City, Ga. 31549 Telfair
A fine young man
I served with Robert in Vietnam and was there when he was KIA.Robert loaned me his movie camera to make a film while we were on Firebase Orilly.He was a good person who loved his daughter so much he put her name on his helmet cover. Her name is Rose Marie and when I hear that old song it makes me almost cry.I hope one day she will read this and contact me. My phone # is 912-363-4654. I will rember you till I die.

To contact others who may have known your brother in Vietnam, try typing "2nd/506th Infantry" into a search engine and go from there. Good luck!

P.S. Which records department has no records?
