I¡¦d have to say, Tiffany that things had to be different in what the situation was, the area of operation or merely the mental attitude of those involved. I can honestly say that as a grunt squad leader and during or before an ¡§assignment¡¨ drugs as well as alcohol was strictly out of the question. Your team¡¦s lives depended not only on your own clear-headed mind but those of his brothers beside him.

I will say that during a ¡§stand down,¡¨ which was scarce, we were sometimes rewarded with a couple of warm beers and they were greatly appreciated. Anything that tasted better than the hot chlorine and plastic tasting water from our canteens was enjoyed to the max. . . . . But NEVER at that time and to this day did I ever participate, as so many of my other bros, in illegal drugs. And that is the truth and I¡¦ll stick to it! ƒº . . . . . . . Beanie
