Subject: help me find out who my grandfather was

I'm posting in this forum and others like it in search of my grandfather because I have nowhere to start. The only thing my mother knows of her father is that he was of the first soldiers to come to the da nang area during the start of the war. I was told that my grandma met my grandpa at the airport there. I, not to mean any disrespect to my grandmother, had thoughts that she was of the many prostitutes during the time. Besides that, I was told my grandfather had another wife back in the states so he couldnt bring my grandmother back with him, and he had two boys already. The last bit of information i have is that he wanted to bring my mother with him back to america but my grandmother wouldnt allow it. I know this isnt much information at all but it would be fun to find out so if theres any way i would be able to look up archives or anything, tips on what to do would be appreciated.
Thank You
