John, I’m an ol’ 196er with D/4/31 from the ‘66-67 era. At the moment Vance Van Wieren has an intensive roster of about 6 to 700 members of 4/31. Vance was a grunt and now a Chaplain and travels around the Country seeking and meeting former members of the 196th LIB. We are also in the process in putting together a “board and chat room” for these members and all other veterans. This, along with the 196th official website and the 196th “Locate a Brother”, we should be able to bring together a lot of our fellow Chargers and Polar Bears.

I had only made contact with my Plt. Sgt. after 35 plus years and through this roster I’ve have met my former CO in person and made contact with my Plt. Leader. Most importantly, I found a name of a brother that was “sniped” right down in front of me and the last I ever saw of him was him being medi-vaced off a firebase. I found out he is now alive and kicking in NY!

Please drop me an email and let’s see if we can get together and find Grayling Wilson together. Make sure you put War Stories BB in the subject line so my anti-spam will let it through. Look forward to hearing from you. . . . and Welcome Home, Bro. . . . . . . Pat (Beanie) Camunes
