There is very little information posted online about the 306th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 31st Tactical Fighter Wing which was stationed at Tuy Hoa AB. For a 1:250,000-scale map of Tuy Hoa, see http://www.nexus.net/~911gfx/vietnam/maps/nd49-09/nd49_09h.html . That is way out in middle of nowhere on the coast in southern II Corps. 1966--1967 is kind of early during the war. Not even the Military.com website has homepages for either the 306th TFS or the 31st TFW, but you could try http://www.tuy-hoa.org/ to see if they know anything. Your best bet, however, is to get in touch with the Vietnam Security Police Association (VSPA). In particular see http://www.vspa.com/v-tuy-hoa.htm . The 31st SPS was stationed at Tuy Hoa AB from 1966--1970 and these guys should be able verify events or put in you touch with those who can. Good luck!
