My name is Ned Costa and I was the Crew Chief and second Door Gunner on Casper 721. As Cliff White's story says, we were shot down near An Khe on the morning of December 11, 1968. The purpose of this reply was just to correct Barbara Anne's posting as she only identified three of my flight crew, and to also correct MSG Brotzman's posting where he mentions Cliff only being shot down with Walt Henderson. The four man crew of Casper 721 and four other infantrymen from the 173d Airborne Brigade were all on board and survived the crash that day. The Casper Crew were: Walt Henderson, Aircraft Commander - Cliff White, Co-Pilot - Ned Costa, Crew Chief & John Steen, Door Gunner. This story and many other stories, along with photos and Casper Platoon history can also be found on the Casper Platoon website: http://www.casperplatoon.com
