Some of my friends at VSPA.com have had similar DD-214 problems. A few of the nearly 1,400 members there served 1-year tours in Thailand or Vietnam, but their DD-214s didn't indicate that service. Those with old orders were easy to resolve, others were fixed by locating men they served with at those bases and getting statements from them. Some had great success with local VFW assistance from their trained ombudsmen.

Any photos of you standing in front of an Air Base sign would probably be too much to hope for...but could be worth digging through your old photos and looking for details in the background.

If your Nav Aides Technicians have a website, they would likely have encounter your situation already and might even have photos posted there that could help.

Do you remember any particular flare mission that might stand out? It is also possible to contact the unit you were supporting with flares for info.

There are a couple of War-Stories members who served with C-130 Blind Bat missions, who may see your post.
