Yeah, I get your points but keep in mind that both SMG and DB think their characters should be together and in Angel's perfect day fantasy Angel cried out "Buffy" not "Cordelia".

Frankly Angel is unable to seriously consider a relationship with anyone unless he becomes human. Up until then he will forever have to keep a distance from romance and thus can never really come to a conclusion about who he wants to be with.
