Silent Grove
In the middle of Ghost Plains you can find Silent Grove, a patch of trees that are both large and healthy. There's little other animals here, except squirrel and other small prey. Animals like foxes roams the open grasslands and wolverines stays in the woods. Unlike further north, there's grass growing between the trees and flowers manage to survive on the sun as the trees aren't standing to close here. It lives up to its name.

  • :: Encouraging, the Ray of Light in the Darkness; Cruel, He who Shades it :: -- Crescent Tear :: Nightshade, 12:07:18 12/08/02 Sun
Two wolves trot over the plains in silence, the male in the front, leading the way, the female following some behind. The male's dark eyes scan the land in front, his nose catches and analyzes all the scents in the air, his ears hear every sound. He has never been here before, but he can tell others have, and still are. It makes him watchfull. He has come here in hope to join a pack - a new pack - so of course he wants to meet other wolves, but he doesn't want to stumble over them. One can never be too carefull, Nightshade is old enough to have learned that the hard way. Besides he doesn't want to fall out on anybody before he gets on the inside, where he can start to play his games again. A sly grin appear on the male's lips as the thought runs through his mind. Yes, he will play, play like he's never done before. And this time, he will succeed.

The young female doesn't give the surroundings much attention; she mainly watches him, the male in front of her. Her father. Though if he deserves the title, she is not sure. In some ways, he has taken care of her. Like now. He would warn her if they were to run into some kind of danger, but for reasons she doesn't like. And if the warning didn't save them, and trouble came, he would never waist his strenght on helping her. That's how much of a father he is. And it is his fault they are on the run again. That and all the other things he's done... no, Crescent Tear will never call him daddy.

As these thoughts run through the female's head, they reach the Silent Grove. The male slows down and starts to sniff around. The young female stops and looks around.
"This is it," she says after a moment of silence, a slight tone of wonder in her voice.
"This is what?", the male barks back at her, not happy about the interruption. Nightshade'd rather see that his daughter would keep quiet and pretend not to be there when he didn't need her, like he'd trained her to do when she was young, but she'd grew quite rebellious lately. The female turns her head and looks at him calmly, a small smile of victory in her eyes.
"This is where we shall part," she says steadily. Inside she is shivering with fright of what he'll do, but she's picked up quite a few of his tricks after watching him fool people around all her life. Her father turns around and glares at her, lowering his head threatheningly and rising his hackles.
"What are you suggesting? You're coming with me. You're mine!" Nightshade barks at her and steps closer on stiff legs. "Watch your mouth and don't get yourself into more trouble than you can handle now, girl." The low snarl gives Crescent Tear shivers down her spine, reminding her of the pain these threaths usually are followed by, but she doesn't show it. She's had enough of being the weaker and submissive part. For each step Nightshade steps towards her, she takes two away from him, making it look elegant like a dance, and not like she's running away.
"No, Nightshade," she says, her voice low and filled with despise, and lifts her head proudly. She has grew to be faster than him, and they both know it. He'll always be the strongest, but what does that matter when he can't catch her? There's wolves here, packs she can join - she's not bound to him anymore. "I'm not your girl. I don't need you. I don't want you. You can't hold me back. Not anymore." Crescent Tear's lips split into a grin, and she runs, leaving her father alone behind, snarling furiously after her.

The dark phase she-wolf held a steady gait that carried her well into the grove's depths. Her slender muzzle dropped as her speed decreased, her nose trailing scarely above the foreign land. A thorough analysis of discovered scents was conducted and the results critiqued. A few squirrels, small annoyances and their like kin. The she-wolf's placid course came to a complete stop to further investigate an aged tree. Its scent story was read and more information collected... Regardless, that the tale was rather dull and uneventful as so many trees' lives are... But atleast it had been confirmed that wolves did roam these lands and she happened to atleast be upon the right trail... If not hard on their heels.

Steps muffled by a healthy carpeting of grass continued to fall in a rythmic beat. Step, step, step, sniff, sniff, sniff. The well executed process however began to decrease in its speed and accuracy as the she-wolf realized something drastically a miss. Step, step, sniff.... Step....Sniff... Pause. The heavy shroud of silence that draped from the tree limbs was stifling to such a vocal soul as herself. A quick shaking was given to her pelt, hoping to discourage the blanket from pulling itself over her as well. Rigid with the discomfort the silence placed upon her, the she-wolf took the moment to engage her eyes in the quest for information. Slowly, her vision drifted over each part of the grove in turn, her head riveting to allow utmost productiveness of the exercise.

  • º watching º -- Môri, 01:16:08 12/05/02 Thu
The timber colored adult stood at the egde of the grove and looked over the grasslands with a unpleased look. He knew there were newcommers in the land, he had smelled what he thought were two males... though he weren't sure. They'd passed through the lands, and he feared they would join the north side, Calika. Môri lifted his hackles in irritation, wondering if DarkMoon and Blaze would do their job right... He sighed, standing his grounds and waiting. But not sure what.
