The couples where seated on opposite sides of the room, as instructed by Inez. They waited patiently as Inez began her speech. “Ok, now to get to the point. I am very disappointed in all of you. I am almost certain that your parents did not know that you did not tell your parents that there would be no parental supervision on this trip. At least I wasn’t told.” She was looking at Santiago as she spoke these last words.
“That’s not fair, us girls didn’t know. This is a surprise for us.” Pricilla spoke up.
“Surprise or not, I have informed your parents, and let them know that I will be staying for the rest of the trip. Marina I spoke to your mom and let her know what happened and that you are fine now.”
“You shouldn’t have worried her Inez, I’m fine.”
“Ether way she is your mother and has a right to know. Now as I explained I will be staying here until this trip is over. I have designated you all to your own rooms. Girls on the top floor, boys on the bottom floor…”
“But mom…that isn’t fair don’t you trust us?”
“Look Pricilla, I remember when I was a teenager and I wouldn’t trust myself back then, that is all I can say. Now anymore interruptions?” There was a pause and then Inez continued. “I will also be placing this red tape on the side of the doors, this way I can tell if anyone escaped, I mean if anyone left there room during the night.”
“This is extreme, we are like prisoners. What if we need something.” Santiago complained.
“Well you all have cell phones, or call room service.”
“This is unfair…” Everyone protested. Except Marina who had a big smile on her face as she spoke.
“Inez can I ask for a request, I still feel a little dizzy…”Imanol was already walking towards her with a worried look in his face, but she stopped him with a shake of her head, and her palm signaling him to stop. “I was wondering if Jovana could stay in my room, incase I need something,” Inez looked dubious as Jovana interrupted.
“But Marina, you hate having a rooming, plus you kick and I thought you liked having room to move around when you sleep. And don’t forget that…”
“Jovana shut up! Trust me…” Marina quickly looked at Inez’s curious face and tought quickly. “What I meant is what if I faint again for example and no one is there, it’s not like I can call for help.” Inez was pensive for a second and finally gave in.
“Ok, you have a point. Jovana get your things and move them into Marinas room.”
“But I like my room why don’t we move Marinas stuff into my rooooom?” Jovana voice shot up as Marina pinched her arm. “Or not.”
“You both decide, but get it done quickly. I want this matter resolved. Now you are all dismissed.” Everyone passed by Inez and gave her a kiss goodnight. Except Pricilla who was very upset, since her plans where ruined. “Goodnight Pricilla.” Pricilla turned in a huff and returned the sentiment, as she wlaked up the stairs.
“Goodnight!”
“Hainita a mi no me vas a dar las buenas noches?” Santiago asked jokingly.
“No!”
“Pero no ise nada.”
“Exactly.”
“Bueno, buenas noches Hainita, Te amo.” That stopped her in her tracks. She walked back down and kissed him goodnight.
“Yo tambien, buenas noches.” And all the couples said their goodnights and the guys watched as their loves walked up the stairs. Imanol was confused as to why Marina was so happy with the accommodations. Well that was part of her charm being able to confuse people the way she did.
“Bueno muchachos. I guess we are going to have to entertain each other for this evening. Too bad I had the perfect rendevouz for my sweet Jovana.” Leon spoke as they all walked to their rooms. Leaving Inez quite content with the way things turned out. She always wanted to know what it felt like to be a mother. And she was having fun.
(Once I start I can't stop. I'ts weird! I'm writing and new plots are being created in my head. Well Natus and Angela thanks for the compliments you guys make me feel better. Ciao!)
