“Ok Marina, what is the big deal? Let up, why are you so happy.”
“SSsshh! Be quiet Jovana, someone could hear you.”
“What’s going on?” Jovana whispered questioning her friend. Marina pushed Jovana with the rest of the stuff, in her room.
“Nothing just be quiet.” Jovana, exasperated, took her blue pant and tank top satin pajamas to the restroom showered and changed. She came out with a nun style towel around her head. She sat on the bed and turned on the TV as Marina entered the restroom to shower and change. These pajamas where a navy blue satin with black Chinese lettering designs engraved. They consisted of black satin shorts, and a high neck, short sleeve shirt the fell just above the short line, with two slits on ether side. It had been a gift from her mothers on one of her many trips around the world. She applied two Chinese sticks on her head, holding her mass of curls in plays. Some of the curls fell and surrounded her face perfectly. She came out with a turban style towel around her head, just in case. Jovana was asleep when she came out. She looked to the door and it was closed probably taped too. Marina lit the two candles gently went on the bed and…she started jumping up and down repeating.
“Jovana wake up, Jovana wake up.”
“Marina! What is wrong with you! Stop it!”
“SH! Don’t scream. Come on lets go.”
“Oh yeah sure. Duh! Where?”
“Through the secret passage of course.”
“Ok what medication are you on.”
“For real look…” Marina walked over to the curtain, pushed on the mirror, but nothing happened. Jovana just shook her head and giggled. Marina tried harder and the mirror budged a bit. Jovana stood, dumbfounded. “Don’t just stand their, help me.” They finally pushed the mirror enough to be able to walk through. Marina ran to the door and listened...nothing. She locked the door. Stood over the vanity applied some Chap Stick, blush, and baby blue eye shadow on her eyelid. Then a tad bit of mascara. She looked over and Jovana and whispered, “You might want to do the same.”
“Do you even know where this leads.”
“Oh yeah. It’s a wonderful surprise. You are going to love it. Trust me, after this you owe me one.” Jovana applied foundation to her face, followed by a brownish copper lipstick, She applied some neutral, sparkling, eye shadow, then a black liner on her eyelid. And of course the mascara. Since they both had their hair still wet they kept the towels on. They each got a candle and walked into the darkness of the passageway. Marina closed the curtain behind them, as Jovana spoke.
“I hope you know what you’re doing.” Marina just giggled.
