Too many things here to respond to, but let's try... First, I'm not onesided in regards to Ralf being guilty--He IS guilty! Did you forget about the verdict? You can not like it, or think it was wrong, but it is a fact.
Second, in regards to being profiled as having a violent past--he does! Maybe you're not aware of the man he smashed in the face with the motorcycle helmet. Hmmm, they didn't let that get into court, did they? They didn't need to. And granted, it might have swayed they jury in the prosecutor's favor, but it was not allowed. Hence, we have a judge bent on convicting him by not allowing evidence in that would show him to have a violent past. Yeah, that makes sense.
Third, closing remarks... Of course, Charlie Roberts took stabs at Ralf's character during his closing. But if you've seen a trial before, you'll know that closing remarks are just that--they are statements made by both sides--which should not carry the same amount of weight as evidence provided throughout the trial. Closing remarks do not have to be backed up by facts--both sides can pretty much get up there and state whatever they want. And although Fieger thinks the prosecutor's closing remarks were a dime store soap opera--there are those who witnessed the trial that felt the same about Fieger's comments. Both sides played to the jury--that's the name of the game.
Fourth, the expert witnesses... It would be negligence for the prosecutor not to challenge the reputation, motive, or education of the witnesses. To just allow these high priced witnesses, (who never examined the body) to get up there and state their opinion with no rebuttal would be insane. Hell, if they are not going to challenge anyone's testimony, I want to be an expert witness!
I don't want Chris to get mad at me for consuming all of the site resources, so I'll stop here. : )
