The fact that Ralf is in prison has no effect on Elli's rights; she can vote, she can sue, she basically can do anything now she could have done before. The restrictions on rights that Ralf has given up do not extend to Elli. She is not convicted of anything - in short she's a free citizen and nothing has changed for her save the fact that her husband is now serving a life sentence for murder. Don't know who Teresa is and it doesn't matter. Elli does not have to wait for an appeal or anything else. I don't know where you're getting your information but I am curious as to how you came to the conclusion that Ralf's lack of right's extend on to her. By the way, Ralf is not precluded from suing either. He can't vote, but he can sue. Actually, prisoners in some states (I think Florida is one) are suing for civil rights abuses while in prison.
