'till

Radio was with me- copying lyrics
eyes on the road
such a careful driver I am at 75 mph
on Choctaw turnpike-

few cars on the lovely surfaced forest road

easpecilly at 2 am,
the night before Thanksgiving
my mother will be so happy to see me

even without my 17 yearold baby
oh YEAH the music so good

every lyric I chase on the radio
sounds like my fav poet you all

sounds like in the middle of the night
sounds like loves me as I am

I wrote down some lines on whatever
I could reach with my eyeliner pencil
so I could be sure to hear these lines again

so perfect, so very fine, and I/ve known fine,
this was finer especially for the time
WhOLE heaqrted soul heart mind body and night

'till the tire blew
sudden and completly as the sound
of world fell down

but I GLIDE to the side
100 yards or so from the tollboth exit

I'm not worried- even though I worry
not gonna die on a highway- that's like default loss-
maybe fall from a plane in mid ocean or maybe pray
to my pillow take me away one day- I MEAN TO SAY-i
worry 'bout getting hit- but I've got my triple A card,
my phone, my can of fix a flat- I've got a extra blinker thing from Spencers (Halloween).

My fix flat can just whip creams the tire,
my phone is dead, my fingers freeze,
I run up to the tollbooth and noopne is there...


cars drive by at 75-85 every th 5 minutes- they have even stopped, backed up, looking for exact change maybe, or
watching me- a woman chasing her tail what am I going to do, round round, boys in one car, trucker in another, ask if i want a ride I ask call the highway patrol if they could pleae, thanks, bye- I JOG BACK TO THE CAR AND OPEN THE TRUNK, OPEN THE HOOD AND rearrange the lights better-
spare, half a jack- look for the whatsizit and realioze it's very unlikely

I can do this- I try the fix a flat again- but my fingers are too cold-- it wasn't cold in Dallas... I run back to the tollbooth and see a cple they meet me on the other side by the empty patrol srtation whehere the coffee pots on, behingnd locjked doors and the sign says 24 survellience camera- haha...

so the yng cple like a 16 yrold boy driver and his sister who just got her RN liscense she said - she called the highway patrol for me and I ran back to my car and got out a warmer coat , began to look for boots and- knew I had tights but no socks in one of the three little suitcases,

but up pulls - a vehickle- a she- in combat clothes and we began to discover a lug lock situation and poetry began when the nice unde sheriff of the county pulled up-- we looked we rummaged we looked we tried- two helpers master mechnics off tour from air force with so much in common, it transpired-

He called triple A, AND WE WAITED-we three and I heard of this chief and that- they had never met but details of family the rest of someone's history, they talked of Ma Devil Meanaine, THE AIRFORCE has it's own lingo- I asked, well first I SILENTLY SCREAMED as my fingers and toes thawed out- pain so much pain-- OGMYG thankful for the gathering warmth after awhile-- cold hurts....soMuch!

I asked is that Indian chiefs or like poice chiefs-
