...and yiped at him. Turning to Moon, she said, "He was my mother's friend's pup. He would play with us and when his mother disappeared, we took him in. One time I saved him from drowning in a river. When the men got my mother, us four were hiding. Dusty wasn't with us at that time." She sighed. "We heard one of the humans say *Look at this little guy!* and I heard Dusty bark. I guess they let him go, but we thought they had gotten him. We ran after that, afraid of what might happen to us."
