Subject: Catalytic trouble in V6 Firebird

Hey everyone,

I recently bought a 2000 V6 Firebird. After driving it for 1 month my catalytic fried: I would floor the pedal and it would take 30-45 seconds to accelerate my car to 30 mph MAXIMUM!. I replaced the fried cat with a new one, (which cost me $430) it lasted for another month, and then fried again! I was told that this might be engion emmision problems (fuel emision either coming out too fat, or too lean), but when I got it checked at the dealer, everything came out fine. The only way to get my car mobile was to hallow out the cat. I did it, and that created even more problems... My exhaust tip starts shaking like CRAZY everytime I drive the car. It also has these really weird burping sounds everytime I clutch, (I take it out of 1st and put it into 2nd... Burp... Take it from 2nd to 3rd... Burp... And so on.

If anyone knows what is causing my catalytic to keep on braking, please let me know. Because I really want to get rid of the noises in my exhaust.
