Trans Am T-Tops & Weatherstripping HELP?!?!

Here's a wierd one for ya... I need new weatherstripping on the T-Tops of my '87 Trans Am. I bought a set for my year and car yet they are larger (thicker) than the ones that are in there now. I was told by someone that it could have been a DEALER installed T-Top. The space where the glass sets into on the T-Tops has a tall, thin peice of metal sticking straight up right in the middle and all around the space where the weather stripping goes. The old weatherstrippin fits into the area closest to the opening of the roof while the outer area is just empty. So, my questions are: 1) How can I find out if my T-Tops are dealer installed or factory installed? I don't have the accessories sticker in the console. Someone removed it before I got the car. And 2) Where and how can I match up and find the proper weather stripping for my car?

Well, I just bought a beautiful 1980 Turbo trans am and I have to change the T-top weatherstriping. I am totaly confused cause there are several kinds of t-tops designs. the factory first and second design, the hurst first and second design, and the fisher design .
How can I know which one is mine???
