[> 1992 Pontiac Firebird:Horn blows all by itself -- Gary, 17:16:39 01/13/02 Sun

I have a 1992 Pontiac Firebird that the horn just sounds on all by itself. Sometimes while you are driving. Sometimes when you just get in the car, when you slam the hood. And sometimes, it just goes off all by itself when no one is around, and the car is locked in the garage all y its lonesome. I have replaced the horn relay, that did not fix it. And I have racked my brain with other solutions, but I cannot find a good set of schematics for the horn, so my options are limited.
Anyone got any information on a problem such as this one?
Email me ASAP if you have, and if you do not mind.

Gary

take your hand off the horn button goofy :)

no, really. disconnect the horn first, then take off the wheel, look at your turnsignal switch and make sure that it isn't shorting out. or just check all the wiring that goes to and from the horn. this could be a short.

i think it's 1-2-3-4-5-6

try it if it doesn't run right make sure that the #1 plug leads back to the #1 post on the distributer. even if it is the right order, it will do you no good if if the wires are on the wrong posts.
