71 pontiac 350

i have a 71 pontiac t-37. i rebuilt the 350 , using a melling mtp-1 camshaft with .422 int, and .444 ex valve lift. i am running a edelbrock 1406 with 1.5 steps on the metering rods in both directions.#94 heads, turbo 350, and a 3:08 rearend. it seems to go ok, but i am open to any suggestions for improvement that are not major in the finance dept. timing is 12 before 0.thanks, Russ

well, you might try a set of 1.6: roller rocker arms and a set of rhoades lifters. the rhoades lifters sometimes make valvetrain noise, nothing serious they're just noisy. both of these items may set you back about $300. or do you want to be even cheaper than that?

if you want to still be cheaper yet, you might try a carb spacer. and if you're a good fabricater, you might be able to make a ram air box for about $20.

an electric fan would aslo help. a shift kit and looser converter couldn't hurt either.
