well, you might try a set of 1.6: roller rocker arms and a set of rhoades lifters. the rhoades lifters sometimes make valvetrain noise, nothing serious they're just noisy. both of these items may set you back about $300. or do you want to be even cheaper than that?

if you want to still be cheaper yet, you might try a carb spacer. and if you're a good fabricater, you might be able to make a ram air box for about $20.

an electric fan would aslo help. a shift kit and looser converter couldn't hurt either.
