Lois, as far as "encountering world religions," the CofC thinks that Jesus would do the same thing that Chrysler did in the 90's: try to merge with some other outfit to get access to third world markets. Many of those other religions would in turn be glad to cooperate with a merger, or acquisition of the CofC in order to get access to funding from "rich" Americans. I think that the CofC might merge with Hinduism, or with Bahaiism, if the current leaders got to keep their leadership positions and salaries.

That may be why it was necessary for the CofC to remove the Smith family from the prophetic succession. One of the big obstacles to Daimler-Benz buying Ford Motor Company was the fact that 40% of the stock was held by the Ford family, who would never sell.
