If I already mentioned this, Lois, I apologize for being redundant, but an alternate reading of the Inspired Version says that when confronted by Jehovah for the murder of his brother, Cain wailed that he would be killed "because of mine oath, for these things are not kept secret from the Lord." He didn't think he deserved to die for committing murder -- it was being caught that was going to do him in.

The boys at HDQ seemed genuinely perturbed that word got out about Sharon Troyer's lesbian shacking up ceremony held at the Eugene, Oregon CofC congregation. And your observation is quite true. If the First Presidency had any relationship with God to speak of, they would have known from the get-go that everybody and his brother would know about it, and certainly God.

I guess the lawyer who represents the church now must be the same one who represented the couple in Italy who were caught in flagrante delicto in a convertible in a public park. The defense argued in Italian court that the park was not a public place until the police turned on the lights; thus, any gross public indecency was the fault of the police, not the defendants. Isn't that pretty much what brain-dead CofC apologists tell you, Lois? -- that the gross indecency in the church wouldn't be a exist if Christians would just keep their mouths shut?

(For those who are intellectually challenged, "couple" means a man and a woman. Since most retarded people know this, "intellectually challenged" does not mean "retarded.")
