Yes, Lois, but where are the Christians burning "The Joy of Gay Sex" on the doorsteps of CofC meetinghouses? The gay activists swore that they would "take down" the LDS church for daring to oppose their agenda. But the Chrsitians haven't threatened the CofC in any violent way. So who is tolerant and who isn't?

This is going to be almost as bad a year for Christians as 1940 was for the French. Of course, any Christians willing to compromise and help organize a sort of "Vichy Christianity" has nothing to worry about. Maybe that's the whole idea. Maybe the CofC leaders saw how degenerate the very children they had raised have become and gave up expectations that Christianity would survive the plans of its opposition. In that case, rather than out of conviction, they have joined what they think will be the winning side. So, it may be that the CofC leadership doesn't really believe in all this stuff -- it just wants to have something left intact after the real Christian churches get wiped out.

When the Bishop of the Episcopal Church in America says that God is full of it if He thinks to tell the Bishop with whom the latter can sleep, I think there is a good reason to expect disaster.

And anyone who reads this and tries to convince themselves that any of these expectations are silly apparently can't read a newspaper with any appreciable comprehension.

George
