Subject: Feeding on the dead carcass

This is from the Greater Pacific Northwest Mission Center, in which my old stomping grounds were once upon a time.

Budgets are where one can see the demise of the institution. From 2011 to 2012 there has been a loss of five congregations out of an original 41. 12% loss. (Not in members, but in number of congregations.)

Some of the congregations are “blended”. What that means is, there aren’t enough people to sustain a separate congregation, go drive to the next closest.

I bet if I looked at the other mission center budgets I would see the same pattern.
