DOMA, Defense of Marriage Act.

You mean they want to make it official.

Kind of like the community not of Christ wants to make their stuff "official" in 2013. Do you know that they have been putting it off since about 2002? They have been doing everything they want already. They marry same sex people, they ordain professing homosexuals. It just is not official yet. They pretend that they are using "spiritual discernment" in the whole matter. Their USA National Conference is set for 2013, immediately following the world conference. It was originally set for 2012, but strategy made them change it.

1.) Extending the sacrament of marriage to persons of the same sex/gender OR providing a church-recognized way for two persons of the same sex/gender to publicly express their commitment to each other.

2.) Allowing people in committed, monogamous, long-term, same sex/gender relationships (legal marriage, civil union, church-recognized commitment) to be considered for ordination.

The delegates� common consent will determine if present policies will remain in place or new policies will need to be written and implemented.

These are difficult issues......"
