John, it has already been established that the leadership of the CofC is nothing but a bunch of liars -- from their denials of intent to join the NCC to their denials that they intended to ordain women, all the way to their denials that they ordain homosexuals. So who are the spiritual persons "sensing" these alleged calls? My guess is that one street corner psychic is as good as another.

So sad for you, John. When Jesus spoke of "wolves in sheep's clothing," he was speaking of duly authorized leaders of the faith, wielding authority, who were "wolves in sheep's clothing." A marxist, or a gay liberationist, or any other kind of psychotic activist using the clerical collar to push his unChristian agenda is a modern day version of what Jesus (and Lois) was talking about.

To apply the phrase to someone who does not claim any spiritual authority is way, way too obtuse to make any sense.

But, I guess that, considering the title of the thread, your firsthand illustration of someone not getting the point is apt.

I guess if Lois were, for some reason, to point out some of the more glaring problems with the current America president, you'd accuse her of being the traitor in the White House. As Lois said, the Lord calls men to leadership positions, and as such, it really is more than impossible for you to twist the figure of speech to apply to her. That figure of speech is just one of many, many things that Jesus said that the Community of Christ priesthood absolutely and obviously does not understand at all, (whether out of stupidity, or willful refusal to understand;) hence the lack of fluency here.
