Lois, it is your tithe money that is assimilated. If you open your mouth and say that all Christians believe in the virgin birth, you might get thrown out, but all the tithing that you paid because you believed in (among other things) the virgin birth won't get thrown out in a bag with you.

Someone who has is assimilated can't be thrown out. You are not assimilated into the CofC until you become a member of the group that gets paid for "setting itself up to be a light unto the world." If you are being told that you have to pay them to borrow their flashlight, you haven't been assimilated. Anyone in the CofC priesthood who is told that he has to tithe ten percent, but doesn't get a "salary" kickback from HDQ has simply been snookered into believing that he is a member of the "in" group so that the "in" group can get his money.

That's another reason for female ordination. Since half the human race is female, why turn one's back on half the bank accounts and income in the world?
