Things are always the same. A godly people inattentive to the affairs of the church end up under political oppression calculated to destroy their faith.

7 But after the passing out of Seleucus' life, when Antiochus, who was called noble, had taken rule, Jason, the brother of Onias, coveted the high priesthood; and Jason went to the king, 8 and set aside for him three hundred sixty talents of silver, and of other rents eighty talents; 9 over these things he set aside also a hundred and fifty other talents, if it were granted to his power, to ordain a school, or bordello, for gathering young men to him; and to enroll the men of Jerusalem [as citizens of] Antioch.
10 And when the king had granted this, and he wielded the princehood, anon he began to convert men of his lineage to heathen custom. 11 And when these things were done away, which by cause of humanity or courtesy, had been ordained for kings to Jews through John, the father of Eupolemius, which was ordained in lawful message of friendship and fellowship toward Romans, he destroyed laws of citizens, and made shrewd ordinances; 12 for he was hardy to ordain a school of heathenness under that high tower, and to put all the best of fair young men in bordellos. 13 In fact this was not beginning, but some increasing and profit of heathen and alien life, for the unlawful and unheard great trespass of callousness, and nonpriest Jason; 14 so that priests not now were given about offices of the altar, but they despised the temple, and left sacrifices, and they hastened to be made fellows of wrestling, and of unjust proceedings, and in occupations of the discus, (plying with a lead discus.) 15 And in fact they held ancestral honors at nought, and deemed Greek glories best. 16 For cause of which perilous contention had them, and they followed her ordinances; and by all things they wanted themselves to become like those who were [later] their enemies and destroyers. 17 In fact for to do unfaithfully against God's laws it befalleth not without pain, but the time following shall declare these things.

Apparently I was correct in attributing the claim of the Communitarians that -- if the opposition refuses to give up and will not adopt their side, that everything will fall apart, I notice that the RSV translated "perilous contention" in verse 16 as "heavy disaster."

The lack of common consent bewailed by the Communitarians of Christ is due to the fact that no follower of the Christ of the New Testament can possibly agree with their proposals, proposals which have already been put into effect WITHOUT common consent.

And heavy disaster awaits everybody, because of the disagreeableness and insistence of the minority elite party on having its own way.

The above passage, as translated by John Wycliff, also demonstrates the truth of the CofC claims that the Bible cannot be understood by reading modern terms into its pages. The Greek gymnazium was not merely a location athletics and excercise -- it was also a place where homosexuality was glorified and practiced, hence, Wycliff's translation of the word as "bordello" or "bordel house" filled with young men.

This was done after the Jews "distinctives" had been done away with, and "shrewd ordinances" set up to mess everybody around. I note from study that the trademarking of the RLDS name was only done in 2006, for the purpose, of course, of persecuting RLDS. Perhaps Antiochus Epiphanes had trademarked circumcision. That would explain the heavy penalty he imposed on Jewish parents for having their infant males circumcized.

There is no common consent unless people know what they are consenting to. The word from the Communitarian Church (or "Community of Christ") is "Shut up and agree with us, right now, or while we are talking you to death in your listening circles we are going to do it without your consent."
