That probably isn't what she had in mind at all, of course.
The cross was a symbol of something disgusting made beautiful by Jesus' sacrifice on it to do something positive. I have no idea what it would take to redeem the peace symbol. It was created as a symbol of the impending death of freedom. That death has yet to come.

Joanne, civil war broke out in the RLDS church in 1986. It has been going on ever since. Like contractors hiding behind walls inside Kabul, some can pretend nothing is going on out in the countryside, but that's their problem.

Congratulations. You know, of course, that no one from the Communitarian Church ever posts here, unless they are in the priesthood. Wally and John, of course, are both priests, and both have experience moderating the Communitarian web forum. Matt would be a patriarch if he were in the RLDS church, but evangelist is a pretty high position, too. That's what tends to suggest that all the posts here are nothing more than damage control, or spin doctoring.

Joanne, the hierarchy has had much success over the last forty years deceiving people who are native English speakers. I just considered the possiblity that someone using English as a second language might be a little easier to fool.

I've made this comparison before, but you know as well that when John Taylor was on his mission to England during the Nauvoo period, Brother John was already a polygamist at the time, but told all who made inquiry of him that the Restored Church did not in any way, shape, or form practice or even contemplate polygamy. Exactly how many people in the mission fields overseas are fully aware of what has been going on in the CofC over the last twenty years -- with the full approval and endorsement of the leadership? That's a rhetorical question. Unlike the rest of them that I posted, I can supply the answer from history.
