Joanne, when Lois and I came here, the board was several years old. Since the first day I've been on it, no one from the institutional church has ever posted who isn't an ordained member of the CofC priesthood.

The parallels between the CofC and our current political administration are amazing. You know, with our country in free fall toward third world status due to "administrative approval" haivng been given to certain things, the president and his supporters still claim that people don't like him as president because he's black?

I'll give you back the same advice you gave Lois: You need to get over your naive growing up period, when you could still pretend to yourself that the riots at the 1968 Chicago convention were all about peace and love, and that the "inspirational poster" of Jane Fonda isn't the mug shot of a detainee picked up for drug smuggling and assault on a police officer -- with the prisoner number and the charged neatly snipped off by the publisher, of course.

We are very close to seeing the fruition of all that was instigated in the 1960's, both inside and out of the church. So when it comes, enjoy the nostalgia, and thank the First Presidency for assisting -- assuming that there is any extant means of communication.

But I have already done you a favor, Joanne. I will not be coming back to Fairbanks, ever. I loved everybody there, and still do, but the local congregation is just bait for what's in Independence. And you can enjoy your exclusive political action committee on homosexuality without any interference from me.

George

(is that bad translation, or what?)
