Yea, Mamusz. I noticed that Joanne's post was conspicuous by its failure to mention who recommended that she come here.

It would have been nice if it had been a nonpriesthood member who was actually concerned about the information being "correct," but I agree with you -- it has to have been someone in the damage control department of the hierarchy.

Castro insisted he wasn't communist until he took over Cuba, with the assistance of American capitalists. Then, he said, "Well, what do you know! I am communist after all!"

That's what will happen in the CofC. After years of insisting that it doesn't promote homosexuality in any shape or form, and insisting vehemently that it doesn't practice discrimination against Christian, should the CofC assess the national situation and determine that it has "won," then it will come out and say, "What do you know! We never were Christian, and we were always pushing an aggressive, radical homosexual stance all the time!"

I wonder if Matt and Joanne have noticed how the eagerness to push homosexuality in the Community of Christ coincides with having homosexuals and radical homosexual advocates in the White House. The first time, in 1992, was when the same-sex shacking up ceremonies and the homosexual ordinations started. Then the eight years came to an end, and everybody got on the down-low for a while. Then, another, worse, and more numerous gang of homosexual radicals got into the White House, along with the lesbian-emeritus at State, and it all cranks back up again with a vengeance.

The only way to reform the CofC in any meaningful way would be to vote all homosexual radicals out of office at the federal level. It seems that the church is so tied to liberal leftwing politics that preaching doctrine does no good. That's because the church is no longer a religious society, but a political one.

Until the CofC sees two or three successive homosexual-leaning political administrations at the federal level, there will continue to be this wishy-washy approach to homosexuality, because the CofC leadership plays "monkey see -- monkey do." Take away the monkey and they don't know what to do next. If the voters remove homosexual activism from the federal government for a good long dry spell, the CofC might actually have to think about Jesus occasionally.
