Subject: Because of Christ's death

1 Thessalonians 4 (with comments)

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep (dead), that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope (don't believe in the resurrection).
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus (have made a covenant with Jesus Christ and tried their best to live a righteous life) will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that they who are alive at the coming of the Lord, shall not prevent them who remain unto the coming of the Lord (I don't know what that phrase means), who are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first; (resurrection of the just, if Joseph Smith Jr. rises with this group, we know he was innocent of polygamy and that people willingly lied about him. If Brigham Young rises in this group we know that the Mormons were right and Joseph was guilty and a liar.)
17 Then they who are alive, shall be caught up together into the clouds with them who remain, to meet the Lord in the air; (This is not the "rapture". It is people so excited to see Jesus that they are caught up to greet Him. It is like when Grandma and Grandpa come a long way to visit you and as soon as they pull into the driveway you are out of the house hugging them and carrying in their luggage) and so shall we be ever with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (Because it's really going to happen.)
