Yes, Mamusz. The Biblical Jesus Christ stated emphatically, without any hesitation or hemming and hawing that he was The Way, the Truth, and the Light. He also said, "No man cometh to the Father but by me."

In elections in Texas, unknown candidates running for county and state offices will sometimes change their name to Crockett, Hamilton, Travis, Bonham, etc. These names are all people prominent in Texas history. It works, too. It gets them votes, even though they are actually NOT these men, nor any of their relatives, or descendants.

Someone other than Jesus who is selected to be made a "christ" usually has his name changed to "Jesus" so that he can get followers. Note that some of the people picked for this job are people who are already dead (such as the previously mentioned, in another post, Judas or Gehazi.) If someone admires the dead person's attributes and wants to set him up as a christ to be followed by Christians, that someone can change the dead person's name to "Jesus" in order to pull it off. It's very like politics. A dead voter will vote for whomever you want him to vote for, and a dead christ will tell you whatever you want to hear.

George
