CofC doctrine and covenants, Section 123

7 Resolved that it is the opinion of this council that there is nothing in the resolution of April, 1893 on church history, that should in anyway interfere with the preparation and publication of an authentic church history by the church.

8 Resolved, further, that it is the opinion of this council that church history, both ancient and modern, may be freely used as a means of information, for what the same may be worth.

Doctrine and Covenants 123:7-8

Rather than edit this scripture to suit its new conceptualization of itself by altering paragraph 8 to read "...church history, real or imaginary..." the CofC leadership decided it would be prudent to completely excise this scripture from its canon, despite the fact that it had been in the CofC scriptures (i.e. "bible") for almost 100 years.

For some reason the current leadership is completely ashamed of anything that has to do with the real history of the church. I am not referring to church traditions about Joseph Smith, Jr.'s aunt dusting the furniture around the plates of Mormon while they were cover with a cloth. I'm referring to known facts regarding the origin of the church that the CofC has chosen to erase as completely as the Utah Mormon church has erased all mention of Brigham Young's other 26 wives.

George
