30 And again, a seer will I raise up out of the fruit of thy loins, and unto him will I give power to bring forth my word unto the seed of thy loins; and not to the bringing forth of my word only, saith the Lord, but to the convincing them of my word, which shall have already gone forth among them in the last days.

31 Wherefore, the fruit of thy loins shall write, and the fruit of the loins of Judah shall write; and that which shall be written by the fruit of thy loins, and also that which shall be written by the fruit of the loins of Judah, shall grow together unto the confounding of false doctrines, and laying down of contentions, and establishing peace among the fruit of they loins, and bringing them to a knowledge of their fathers in the latter days; and also to the knowledge of my covenants, saith the Lord.

32 And out of weakness shall he be made strong, in that day when my work shall go forth among all my people, which shall restore them, who are of the house of Israel, in the last days. 33 And that seer will I bless, and they that seek to destroy him shall be confounded; for this promise I give unto you; for I will remember you from generation to generation; and his name shall be called Joseph, and it shalll be after the name of his father; and he shall be like unto you; for the thing which the Lord shall bring forth by his hand shall bring my people unto salvation.

(N.B. Instead of following my usual practice of italicizing words added to the Biblical text by Joseph Smith, Jr., I have not italicized any words here. You see, if I did, I'd have to italicize every single word in the quote, along with the preceding 6 verses, and the succeeding 3 and one half verses.)

This is CofC scripture. It is found only in Joseph Smith, Jr.'s "Inspired Version of the Bible" which was canonized by the Community of Christ, and has been published by that church as its official doctrinal bible since 1867. Joseph Smith took these verses from the Book of Mormon (2 Nephi 3:11-15 LDS-Mormon / 2:17-30 CofC-RLDS) , reworked the verb tenses to fit the context of the Lord speaking to Joseph the Dreamer during the days he was in Egypt. Note that the added passage contains predicts the coming of Joseph Smith, Jr. ("called after the name of the father") and "the thing [i.e., the Book of Mormon] which the Lord shall bring forth by his [i.e., Joseph's] hand, shall bring my people unto salvation." If you will look back at the passage, understand that those who are to be brought to a knowledge of their fathers (or ancestors) are the Native Americans, whom both Joseph Smith, Jr. and the Book of Mormon both state are descended exclusively from the Jewish race.

This use of the Joseph Smith, Jr. Bible is all a little odd, since Lois reports that the CofC recently joined the CofC under cover of documents stating that the CofC was founded by Joseph Smith, III, not Joseph Smith, Jr. So why, of all the churches in the world, including the Mormon church, is the CofC the only one that uses as its official, authoritative Bible, the above-quoted Bible produced by Joseph Smith, Jr.?

If you don't like insane contradictions, stay away from the CofC. That's why this forum has few visitors and even fewer posters. People in the CofC cannot deal with the contradictions except by pretending they don't exist, and that pretense doesn't last long on this forum. In fact, if they stay around here too long, they will find out about contradictions that have existed since before they were born that they haven't even noticed yet; contradictions they must add to the pile that they are already having to deal with.

P.S. Before I posted this, a friend pointed out to me that various polygamous offshoots of the Mormon/LDS church have become interested in the Inspired Version of the Bible printed by the CofC and have started using it due to their reverence for Joseph Smith, Jr., its translator/editor.
