I just got a 94 sea rayder 90hp. I need help in a couple of questions.
1- The owner told me that it has a self flushing system, that under no circumstances start the unles is in the water. What can I do to start the boat at least once a month to ensure it operates good.
2- Is the Penzoil semi synthetic blend good for it.
3- can anyone send any information manual web site were i can get information on that boat.

Ted -

You can run it on the trailer if you put enough water through the pump to cool the engine and wash the unburnt fuel out of the exhaust chamber below the engine. Without water running, this unburnt fuel can explode and blow the ride plate off the bottom of the boat. You can buy fittings at Home Depot that allow you to connect a garden hose to the end of the black rubber hose that feeds the engine cooling water off the jet pump. You've got to disconnect the hose from the jet pump while you do this, or else buy a lot more fittings to rig up a T connector and shutoff valve. My manual says to run the garden hose at about half open while doing this, although I tend think more water is better than less. You should not run the engine at high throttle while on the garden hose because there is no load on the jet pump.

Oil is a bit of a personal preference thing. As long as it is TCW-3 rated, it should work. Synthetic oils tend to make less ash and carbon but may not stick to parts as well when the engine is not running, possible allowing more rust to accumulate. Don't run it on old stale gas, and use at least mid grade (89 octane). If you put Sta-Bil or a similar fuel stabilizer in the fuel when you buy it, you can let it sit for months at a time without it going bad. If you use fuel and fogging oil in the engine when you park it for the winter, you shouldn't need to start it every month.

Stem to Stern has a good web page with parts diagrams for all the sportjets. Check e-bay for manuals. There are several for sale there now. The factory one is best but the Chilton is decent. I've got both and Chilton has some things that aren't in the factory manual.
