Makes sense. Hard to recruit if player does not know if coach will be there much longer. He is making inroads recruiting.

Hard to see how it makes sense to bring in a new AD with both of the premier programs at the school out of your control for the first 4 years of your job.
A one year extension would have put Dunne on a 2 year basis not hampering recruiting. At almost any school in the country you have to leave open the possibility of buying out one year if you make a change.

It looks like it is only a two year extension. However I am sure some inside person will soon clarify what is the right number.

EC approved what Stein put forth. Enough is going on to not pidgeon hole him as yet. You tend to forget that the lame duck does have some positive attibutes. He has the ability to solicit and get some monies for the program. That is why he is staying on at SPC as a part timer in the development office. Not quite as lame duck as you want to think.

Rainbow plumage???? Do you have us confused with the NBC peacock?
The Peacock as mascot stands for the Christian resurrection and will never be changed.
More appropriate for a Catholic school ,I would think, than say the Seton Hall Pirate, which represents thievery, plundering, and rape.

Good one, Cindy. Trash talk is cheap and belongs on the street. Staying loyal through thick and thin is what it is all about, whether it be a fan, coach, player or employee.
The new president has already made positive changes, and it is to his credit that he will let the athletic deparment employees run the athletic department, And, he does it without filthy language.

Don't dispute your basic Theology but the Peacock was adapted from an older, pagan, mythogy. The Peacock, like the Phoenix, was a bird that was reborn form it's own ashes. It was adopted as a symbol of The OldU's rebirth following it's closing during the Great War. Maybe we should watch a little more Harry Potter. IO PAVO!
