Subject: Kyrie Sutton

Another new name listed on CAA Insider-Kyrie Sutton, 6-9, 230lbs, Boys & Girls HS; C.J. Reids team mate. Exactly what we need; lets us hope for the best.

I need to amend my prior post. It seems Sutton had ACL surgery and was only at 70% in Sept 07. He did have 3 offers BC,St.John's and St Bonaventure. No idea where we fit in if at all.

Per Tom Konchalski he's listed as a partial qualifier. History of PSAL guys on eligibility is abysmal so hard to get hopes up even if he came our way.
Was rated a 4- pre injury by Konchalski which would put him in A10 type level or high end MAAC recruit. Only post injury report i saw downgraded him slightly to 3+.
Teammate David Imes also 3+ a 6-7 banger type but also qualification issues so no offers shown.

Mention of SPC came from a Sept 2007 referance. SPC was not even mentioned in a late April report from the same network. He is mentioned as qualified, but I am not sure about that or he would have already been signed by one of the upper schools. The only true connection we have is that one of his teammates is coming our way.

He just appeared on the SPC list from CAA insider. Those guys seem to keep pretty much up-to-date, although they still have Conley committed to SPC.

These guys do scour the boards, but missed the Sept 07 article. It does show up when you Google him. While I want to hope, I think it is more improbabe because of qualification/ other school interests. CAA is a great site, but much like many of the recruiting sources, have its flaws. I know of contradicitons on Sutton's qualifications. And remeber CAA is one step removed from these flawed sources.

but the thought that John might get this player will give me more hope for the program than I've had in a long time....until he goes elsewhere...

Not sure my blackberry is enabled for site. Anyway, forget Sutton or Providence visit; hope is that we will see contribution from new 6'8" big out of the South. We should hear more detail soon.

I agree on Sutton. Never though he was even in the mix. You do know about LP, but qualification may have caused Dunne to bypass.

The optimistic way to look at this is that we can say to him that if you do it right you can be the guy from day one for four years. Add in his teammate coming this way and the press that KeeKee,Jordan and Thompson got playing in the MAAC the last three years and a few prayers, and its practically a done deal. I usually leave the prayers for important matters but in the September of my years a strong SPC basketball team has moved up on the priority list.
