1(a)(1)To review progress.The meaurement of quantity
and quality of work completed against the programme
(2)To consider what further information may be
required from the architect and consultants.
(3)To review site resources and plan any adjustments
required to labour,plant and materials
(4)To consider particular site problems and provide a
solution.Problems may be caused by construction
methods,constructional details, bad weather
(5)to review site organisation,layout,safety,health
and welfare. Such reviews are regularly necessary on
the non static situations met on sites
(6)To review site commications and information
flow,and to ensure with the quantity surveyor that all
work completed whether under contract, daywork, or
variation has been correctly recorded and submitted.
(b)Information task of a site manager:
Leadership,motivation,discipine,Cultvation team
spirit, communication skills,decision making.
The site manager should consider before giving job
instruction:
1.Why-the job has to be done.In this way the operators
are motivated to perform the job because they know the
purpose and they are sure of their role.
2.What-has to be done. What back-up resources would
support the operators so that thay know what kind of
help is available when performing their job.
3.Who-is in charde and who the operators can turn to
for advice and help.How the job is coordinated should
be set out.The site manager should always be the
conrller and coordinator.
4.The job is to be done.A step-by-step guide should be
provided if necessary.Factors affecting the
achievement of the purpose must be
considered,Priorities and sequence must be set.
