Subject Author Date *Enigma nods weakly to them, his eyes fall to his new son. Lowering his head, he whuffs softly, cool breath, breezing across the colt, his orbs gentle and forgiving. He nudges colt gently.* "Come on my darling, you must nurse now..." He slowly make his way over to Dawn, where he trembles in fear. Cry of disbelief emits from mare, when she sees her mother's still form. Mare falls to the ground sobbing, wondering why her mother had left her. Searching for someone to blame, she looks at the two new foals, in disgust, they had killed her! Mare screams in fury, not being able to listen to the reason, that was deep inside, they weren't to blame. But all she wanted was someone or something to blame. She found it. In those new murderous foals. Rearing up, she screams again, and land, taking flight she flees into the darkness.* -- Shattered Mysteries, 08:19:43 06/07/02 Fri *mare steps protectively in front of foals, but remains silent. She knew blinded anger drove Shat to show such fury, and with time, her broken heart would mend. Watching after her departing form, she sighs, wishing she could help, but knowing the newborn foals needed more attention now. Whickering softly to the buckskin colt, she smiles. "Come, little one. She struggles to pull her feet under her, and rises, fear consuming her. Desperately, she whirls, galloping awkwardly, legs going in all directions, tripping constantly. Finally she falls, gasping for breath, her heart racing with terror. Whimpering, she pushes up against a nearby tree, trying to become as small as possible. The tree held no warmth...she only wanted to snuggle next to her mother, to be comforted, protected...her mother was gone. The tears came, more now, and she was left choking on dry sobs. She was so tired...wouldn't it be nice, to go to sleep, to not wake up? Her eyelids began to sink, and she struggled half heartedly to keep them open, but drowsiness and sorrow was getting the best of her.
