| Groaning in pain, sweat dripping down her coat, the mare struggles to give birth to her foal. Finally one hoof appears, then another. But nothing else happens. She knows she has limited time before the foal suffocates. Whinnying weakly, she finally manages to push her tiny foal out. Turning weakly, she licks the filly clean, eyes dull with pain. - *A shrill squeal of fear echoes from the filly. She trembles entire body shaking in fear at his extreme harshness to her, she is but a foal and this kind of treatment has brought trama. She looks at her mother frightened and tears runs down her tiny face, tears of fear. She turns away from her mother and crawls into the darkness preparing herself just to lay there and die. It seems that no one cares. She shivers from the colt and she shakes fiercely from starvation. She looks at *Dusk* remembering his mean look, and his harsh words. She shivers again and she closes her eyes tears running down her face. - At Dusk's harsh words, the golden mare leaps to her feet, ears pinned, teeth bared, standing in front of her foal. She speaks in a deadly whisper, one hoof cocked. "Don't you ever, ever speak to my daughter that way again, Dusk. Have you forgotten I let you live here upon the mercy ofm y own heart? Or are ye too ungrateful to remember that, little one. Never, ever, ever threaten my daughter. Or it will be the last thing you do here." She whirls and gallops weakly after her daughter, nudging her, tears now streaming down her own face. "Mysteries, Mysteries, shh baby, it's all right. He won't hurt you." She shoots him a look. "I wont let him. Ever. I'd die before I ever let anything happen to you my darling, I love you more than anything ever." She nuzzles the small filly - too small, the result of a premature birth. | *Copper filly prances in place muscles rippling under her sleek and glossy chestnut coat. She dances on onyx hoofs. She whinnies softly her sound a sweet simple sound. A smile comes to her velvety lips as she sees the new foals. She trots over lithely to her mother, hoofs barely touching the ground, it appears as if she is floating. She emits a soft whicker to *Sabi* and nuzzles her. She then dances off and seeing a glimpse of silver she lightly nips *Illusion* playfully. She arches her crest and dial is tucked neatly to her chest. She giggles lightly and nips at him again. | The golden mare looks around the familiar forest. She sighs at the memories it brings. Good ones, yes...but...she lowers her head, then walks over to the waterfall, staring up at it. She turns, climbing the mossy rocks slowly, slipping once but regaining her feet, finally reaching the cliff high above them, moss and flower covered, looking over the whole forest. She stops at the edge of the cliff, eyes closed, willing herself to move forward, hardly able to. Finally she steps forward She opens her eyes. This place, her favorite spot...just hers and her father's spot. He had taken her up here so many times, shown her the land...she closes her eyes, pushing the memories away. Now it is not her favorite place. For here is her father's grave, a mound, covered in flowers she had so painstakingly planted, grown by her own tears. For the hundreth time she rereads his final note to her family, eyes misting over. She lays down beside it, one single, lone tear gliding down her muzzle.
