Subject: Groaning in pain, sweat dripping down her coat, the mare struggles to give birth to her foal. Finally one hoof appears, then another. But nothing else happens. She knows she has limited time before the foal suffocates. Whinnying weakly, she finally manages to push her tiny foal out. Turning weakly, she licks the filly clean, eyes dull with pain. She coughs weakly, then nuzzles her foal and passes out. You Sabi go get the healer of these lands and hurry...i dont know these lands well ill stay here with them"*he lays down nexto the filly and pushes her closer to its mothers warmth and milk then stays close by to warm the filly inbetween the two* (NT) -- dusk, 14:02:23 07/28/01 Sat *cantering in, the stallion sniffs at the filly then moves to Wit, crushing some mint and thyme in front of her nose, to revive her. She looks at her mother frightened and tears runs down her tiny face, tears of fear. She turns away from her mother and crawls into the darkness preparing herself just to lay there and die. It seems that no one cares. She shivers from the colt and she shakes fiercely from starvation. She looks at *Dusk* remembering his mean look, and his harsh words. She shivers again and she closes her eyes tears running down her face. She squeaks out one word before starvation and dehydration takes it's toll and makes her fall asleep, and maybe for good.* "Mama." She speaks in a deadly whisper, one hoof cocked. "Don't you ever, ever speak to my daughter that way again, Dusk. Have you forgotten I let you live here upon the mercy ofm y own heart? Or are ye too ungrateful to remember that, little one. Never, ever, ever threaten my daughter. Or it will be the last thing you do here." She whirls and gallops weakly after her daughter, nudging her, tears now streaming down her own face. "Mysteries, Mysteries, shh baby, it's all right. He won't hurt you." She shoots him a look. "I wont let him. Ever. I'd die before I ever let anything happen to you my darling, I love you more than anything ever." She nuzzles the small filly - too small, the result of a premature birth. She nudges her towards her flank, to nurse. She can only pray the filly will, for without it, she will starve. (NT) -- Wit, 09:46:20 07/30/01 Mon "I don't make threats...im not my father....ye call me ungrateful?Look at her! Look at all of you...you still judge me as evil and cruel and excpect me to turn on you in an instant...I could have killed her in 1 second but I didnt....I am grateful but i was never welcomed. You took me in merely because you couldnt let a foal be killed by its father...no other reason. For pity.
