Subject: I'm worried about GA's writing and directing an XF ep.

I read in the TV Guide that GA will be writing and directing an upcoming ep and I must say that it worries me. It's not that I don't beleive she'll do a great job or anything like that, but I fear that since she is a woman, the critics will be a little harder on her.

I think that if DD had failed with....with...I'm drawing a blank...the ep he wrote last year, it wouldn't have been so bad because he just would have been another guy who thought he could direct and write and fell flat on his face, no big deal.

The thing is, I haven't heard about many women who take that plunge. I know David Swimmer directed a "Freinds" ep, Dylan McDermott directed an ep of "The Practice", but I haven't heard of women actors do it. Kim Manners is a great director, but I can honestly say that she is the only woman director I know. Even "Ally McBeal" a show that could be considered to be a show for women is written by a guy.

My point is that being that there are so few women directors, I feel like GA will be representing women in general when the ep airs and I feel like it's a big load to carry for a first time w&d.

Are my worries justified or am I just being paranoid?

P.S. I haven't seen the last two eps, if the ep GA w and d was one of them, please disregard this post.
