She may have had a lot of help with the writing of it and her ideas were developed more by someone else (I think I read it was VG somewhere but I could be wrong). I'm not saying this as a knock against her in any way. The first eps David contributed to like Colony/End Game and Avatar he didn't fully write either but just helped with the story. He wasn't ready then to write a ep all by himself. So he had a lot more practice before deciding to do one on his own, while GA is jumping in right out of the gate. Very courageous!

I wish she'd started talking to the writers about her ideas for Scully a couple of years ago. Thwy don't always understand the character.
I think it will be very interesting to get a female perpspective since there have been so few women writing eps in the course of the entire series, and epecially interesting since the ideas are coming from the woman who should know Scully better than anyone.

GA certainly should know her way around an XF set and all the production aspects of it after 6 and half years so I think she will do ok directing. And if she wants some pointers there's a lot of people she can ask.

True there aren't quite as many women directors but there are more well known ones than there once was like Penny Marshall and Betty Thomas so I don't think the stigma means as much now.

Btw way where have you been Misterio?

det, who thought Kim Manners was a woman too until she saw him!
