Subject: CC can certainly be very infuriating! (Spoilers for already aired S8 eps)

I must have read a shortened version of that TV Guide thing cuz I don't remember that question about Doggett.
I certainly can believe that CC likes to infuriate us and torment us! I liked the Mulder/Doggett pairing. But I want more M&S too. I would rather have had M&S scenes in place of the Reyes stuff we've gotten. I don't object to Mulder working with Doggett. I think it makes good conflict and I love seeing them both acting jealous! And they've created a nice little arc with the three characters in a very short time. Mulder hates Doggett but eventually (as we see in Alone) he learns to accept him since he was an important part of Scully's life for awhile. It was nice. But the Reyes stuff in Empedocles was just like they were saying "Here's a sample of what season 9 will be like."

As for Mulder being listed fourth, it could just be CC trying to avert attention on that option. I was also thinking that when he listed one of the possibilities as being a miracle he may have meant Mulder. It's all laid out for us in Per Manum. Mulder says, "Never give up on a miracle", darkened room, scene ends with Mulder and Scully together. Not to imply it happened then, I think that was too far in the past. But it implied that that situation may have been the cause of her eventual pregnancy. Mulder doesn't particularly believe in biblical type miracles so it could be the miracle is him. Remember Mulder is almost always right. :-) Maybe that's what CC was implying and the reporter just didn't pick up on it so when he said "What about Mulder?" maybe CC was thinking, "I already listed Mulder as a choice!"
