Subject: Some Season Nine info

The following is from an interview with Robert Patrick that moved on the Associated Press Entertainment Wire this weekend.

At press time, all indications suggest that ‘‘The X-Files’’ will return for a ninth season, though no official announcement has yet been made. Anderson, Patrick and Pileggi are all contractually obligated to return, leaving only Duchovny unaccounted for. The buzz is that, if Duchovny stays involved at all, he’ll make only a handful of appearances next season.

This is actually fairly good news, in light of the "completely Mulderless" ninth season that everybody else seems to be under the impression is a done deal. I've seen numerous interviews with DD in which he's talked about wanting to continue to play Mulder in XF movies and he's also a shipper who doesn't want to totally screw up the MSR. So my bet is, if there's a ninth season, DD will show up for at least four or five eps. And, considering that due to the writers and/or actors strike, we may only get 12-14 eps during season nine, having Mulder in five of them wouldn't be, on a percentage basis, much more Mulderlite than this season has been.
