I'm glad he's a nice guy. I still think adding the Dogface character to "XF" is a *BIG* mistake, but I'm not holding it against RP personally. CC and the Fox execs made that decision and if RP hadn't taken the job, someone else would have.
I can't blame DD for his desire to become a movie star, though. From everything I've ever read about Hollywood, during my entire life, there is an established "pecking order": daytime TV stars are always eager to leave soap operas for a shot at a role on a prime time TV series and virtually all TV actors/actresses see their television work as a springboard to becoming movie stars. It upsets me a bit that so many people (not so much here on these boards as other places) seem to want to paint him as some sort of "prima donna" who let stardom go to his head.
Let's remember that he's stuck with "XF" for *EIGHT* years and counting; yes, I still consider DD and GA to be the stars of "XF" - he has *NOT* left the show. Also, he's not tired of playing Mulder, just tired of the grind of a weekly TV series. All DD ever wanted was for CC to keep the promise he'd made — to DD AND the fans — of ending XF as a TV series after seven seasons and continung the concept as a movie franchise.
