On Thanksgiving, I watched the video of "X-Men" at my brother's house. I'd read an occasional "X-Men" comic as a kid, but hadn't really though much about them in the past 20 years. Watching it last night, I was struck by the similarities of X-Files and X-Men.
Both have beautiful redheaded women doctors as one of the central characters. Both women have relationships
with tall, darkhaired good-looking men. (At least, I assume Scott was good-looking. To be honest, it was kind of hard to tell, since he was wearing those laser beam glasses throughout the movie.) Both "couples" work for baldheaded bosses. Both do work that involves mutants, psychic abilities, etc. (No mention of aliens in X-Men, however!) And. . .both had to deal with the problem of an enemy who can "morph" into any shape he/she wants to!
So. . .has anybody else seen the movie?? Did the similarities strike you, too? Or did I just eat too much turkey??
Also, there was a somewhat different cast of characters in the movie than in the comics (at least the 70s versions of the comics). Two characters from the comics were Beast and Angel, but they didn't appear in the movie. Does anybody know what happened to them?
