A significant number of religious beliefs are based upon the notion that their "holy" writings are 'divinely' inspired or given during a dream of some sort. CC, Arthur C. Clarke and other Sci Fi writers are not really coming up with anything original. These writers all sem to have their own interpretation of the "how, when, who, etc." questions which are in turn reflected in their writings.

Ditto here--I wish I understood more of the so-called nonchristian beliefs to see what is in common--if anything.
